Two decades ago I started in the unglamorous work: deep in data migrations, mapping ERP workflows, translating what the business wanted into what the system could actually do. That training never left me. It's where I learned to spot where an organization actually loses time and money.
Since then I've led technology at scale: IT Director; Data Lead at Accenture on SAP implementations for Rio Tinto and Alstom; CRM Manager for the City of Edmonton. Big organizations, complex environments, real stakes.
A few years ago I noticed something. The businesses that needed serious software the most were getting burned by agencies that overpromised, underdelivered, and handed the work to junior developers. So I started akafal.com to be the opposite of that.
The work always starts with the problem: where the hours go, where the money leaks, what's actually worth building. Then I build the fix myself. Fast, because I use AI-assisted development. Right, because I've spent twenty years learning what right means in production. And you talk to me, not an account manager.
I'm not trying to be everything to everyone. I take on a limited number of projects at a time, I work closely with the people I build for, and I don't start something I can't finish properly. Right now I'm building and shipping for clients across Canada and beyond, with several engagements in progress.
